Day 3: My Favorite Feline

Canon EOS R5 | Canon RF100mm F2.8 L MACRO IS USM
1/160 sec | f/3.2 | 40000 ISO

Why did I take this photo?

This sweet kitty has been by my side for 12 years and counting. I love her colorful Tortie face! I chose to take this photo because I had a busy, exhausting day, and I wanted to honor my commitment to the 100 Day Project, even though it was bedtime.

How was this photo taken?

This photo is a snapshot, taken without prior planning, with an uncooperative and moving subject. It was taken handheld with warm indoor lighting.

Did I learn anything? Would I do anything different next time?

Gotta remember to keep an eye on the ISO! I wasn't paying attention, and the ISO was a wretchedly high 40,000. Fortunately, I was able to salvage the shot by using a denoise program without losing all the colors and hairs that make this an interesting photo. Note to self: plan your shot earlier in the day tomorrow.

This is day 3 of 100 of The 100 Day Project, in which I commit to take and post a new photo from with my camera (not cellphone) every day. Follow my creative journey on via blog or Instagram.
