Framing Guide
Sizes
If you are doing the framing yourself, look at the size of the print, and purchase a frame that has an opening to fit that size. The frames from Kin and Caboodle add roughly 2" to each side, and the mats add an additional 2" to each side. The chart below helps estimate the final size of your prints, depending on the finishing option chosen.

Mat or No Mat?
Mats are more than just decorative white space that draws the eye to the artwork, they actually help protect the art by keeping it from touching the glass. That's why we recommend using a mat when possible. Please note, our prints are true to size. This means that there is no white border, unless it's part of the design, so the edge of the frame or mat will cover a small portion of the edge of the print (~1/4"). Don't worry, we have designed our prints with this in mind.
Keep in Mind
Frames that have mats can be used with two different sized prints. For example, an 11" x 14" frame with a mat included will typically have an opening that fits an 8" x 10" print. Be sure to look verify the mat opening size matches the size of your print (not the actual frame size).
