Lorna reached out to us with an exciting project for her dad, Jim, who has been delving into his family history for quite some time. She had been searching for the perfect birthday gift, and finally landed on the idea of a genealogy family tree. However, traditional charts left her feeling unsatisfied, with empty spaces where unresolved genealogical puzzles lingered. But then she discovered Kin and Caboodle's creative family tree made from words, and her excitement skyrocketed!
Lorna shared nearly 250 names from her dad's research, capturing the essence of their lineage. Some names included first, middle, and last names, while others omitted the middle name if unknown. Lorna wanted the artwork to feel complete, showcasing not just direct ancestors, but also close family members like siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins—those cherished branches of their family tree.
Luckily, our tree design proved flexible and accommodating, allowing us to incorporate all the important names, spanning over 10 generations of ancestors! For the quote at the base of the tree, Lorna opted for our favorite "default" family quote:
Like branches on a tree; we all grow in different directions, yet our roots remain as one.
Once the proof was approved, Lorna requested that we ship the family tree wall hanging directly to her father. A couple of weeks later, she joyfully shared her father's priceless reaction with us:
"This is amazing! I can't express how happy and touched I am. The thought and effort put into creating something so unique and personal is truly special. I feel so fortunate and loved to receive such a heartfelt present. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!"
Creating this personalized gift for Lorna's dad was a delightful experience, and we're overjoyed that it brought him such happiness and appreciation for his thoughtful daughter.
